Depending on the type of yard you have, with a little bit of investment, you can quickly change it to a haven you want to spend many hours in – especially in the summer months. With a few pool deck ideas, changes to your furniture, updating the colors and adding new plants, you’ll soon want to spend every minute of your day out there.
To help you with making your yard an enjoyable space, keep on reading for our top tips.
Make some changes to your furniture
If you are finding yourself avoiding your yard, then chances are you haven’t updated much on it recently. This could mean that your furniture is starting to look tired, isn’t very comfortable and may well have taken a battering in the winter months if you haven’t stored it away properly. Take a trip to your local yard center and see what pieces of furniture they have on offer. If you visit at the right time, they may have some pieces in the sale which you can make the most of. If not, the internet is your best friend – take a look online at some furniture sites and see what they are offering. Spend some time on Instagram browsing different hashtags on yards for some inspiration. You may be surprised at what is on offer when you start doing your research.
Pot some plants
Whether it’s inside your home or in your yard, plants can make a big difference to your interiors. They add some personality to a room and your yard as well as color and warmth. They attract wildlife to your yard which can be very fun to watch in the evening when you are relaxing on your new furniture reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine or non-alcoholic rum (if you don’t drink alcohol). We mentioned it above, but if you need some inspiration on what plants to buy, head to your local garden center and see what they are selling. If you have any friends or family members that are keen gardeners, then ask them what they would recommend. Plants come in all shapes, sizes and most important prices, allowing you to match a whole range of budgets. If you can’t decide on a plant, you could look into garden ornament features as these too can make your yard an enjoyable space.
Add lighting
Lighting can be magical and really change the way a space looks – just like plants do. They can light a pathway in your garden to highlight a feature spot or they can add color to make a space look bigger. You can get a whole plethora of lights in your yard depending on your budget and interests. Floor lights can be good and they can come as solar lights. Alternatively, you can purchase some lights to hang from the trees. If you want something different, you could look into ornaments that have lights built into them like an animal with its eyes lighting up. The more lights you have, the more likely it is that you will spend time in the evening enjoying your yard space.
Clean your paving
Do you have any paving in your garden? The more time you leave them to grow moss and dirt, the more unappealing they get. Over the winter months, they can take a real battering, just like your fences and shed do. Try to borrow a pressure washer or buy one and give them a good spraying. This can dislodge all the dirt, returning them back to their original self. If you don’t have paving, this could be something you can add to add another dynamic to your space and make it more enjoyable.
We hope the above four tips give you a few ideas of changes that you can make to your garden. Try changing one or two of the points and see what difference it makes. If you have the budget, updating your furniture can always make a big difference. What tips do you have for making your garden an enjoyable space?
