When you have this idea of moving out and getting your own home, you think about all of the relaxing times that you’re going to be able to have in it. You’ve escaped the grasp of your parents, and all of a sudden you’re just free to do what you want. It really doesn’t take long for the novelty of it all to wear off, and before you know it you’re raging around the home, because sometimes it’s just not as idyllic as the movies make out.
There are so many things that you have to do, every single day, just to maintain it. If you don’t clean up after yourself, the magic cleaning fairy that you once used to love, just doesn’t come knocking. If you don’t do your ironing, it won’t magically end up folded in your room. But most of you will be fully aware of this by now, but does it make it any easier to settle into a routine? No, it definitely does not! So we’re going to show you some of the top reasons why your home might not be so idyllic, some you definitely won’t have thought about, and what you can do about it!
Little Home Invaders
So this is the one that we know most of you are not going to have thought about before. Home invaders can come in all shapes and sizes, and no, we’re not talking about your inlaws popping in whenever they see fit. We’re on about the bugs and the animals that work their way into our homes, and make it their new comfy home as well.
Having pests in your home can be so alarming, especially if you’re really not an animal lover of any sort. Pest control should be the first people that you call, and there are a few things to avoid whilst you wait. The first, is trying to get rid of the problem on your own. Say for example, ants. Even if you spray them to death, there’s still going to be some lurking in the source. So some people get rid of the visual cause, but forget they could be hiding underneath!
Little People Running Rings
Now onto more pests, but this time in the form of your tiny humans. If your kids are really running rings around you, like we just know they love to do, then we know what a nightmare that you’re dealing with. In order to bring some calm to your home, you need to think about keeping them busy with things to do. It could be helping out around the home, painting, playing outside…whatever it needs to be. If you’re spending the day without organizing anything for them, it’s no wonder that you have a not so idyllic home!
There’s Just No Routine
If there’s just no routine in your home, then it’s easy to see why you would feel like chaos is surfacing. So set up a chart with a sticker reward, and make it full of tasks to do for the day. You can get your kids to help you out, and before you know it, you’ve got a house running like a nearly well oiled machine!
